Michelle in Switzerland June 25
On our trip we took several pictures, with our cameras and phones. Here are a few impressions.
Rüti bei Büren: When Michelle arrived in Basel, coming from Frankfurt, we headed for Rüti bei Büren (canton Bern), where we would glide down the river Aare on stand up paddle- boards and spend the night at Koni's farmhouse. First we parked Nathalie's car at the place where we would be getting out of the river. Then we walked to the farmhouse, where a friend drove us to the place we entered the Aare on our boards. The next morning we walked through the village and admired many of the old houses built in the Bernese style.

Muri: On the second day we drove 30 minutes to Muri, where Nathalie's parents live, for the traditional pond cleaning: every summer the Laissue family gets together and fishes the goldfish out of the pond in order to clear the bottom of all the leaves and dirt. We spent the night in Muri.

Blausee: We drove to Blausee ("blue lake"), which really turns from very blue to very green in a certain light.

Engstligenalp: From the Blausee we drove to Engstligenalp and took the cable car up to the alp. The minute we arrived it started pouring in buckets. We waited and luckily after an hour the sky cleared.

Kiental: Our airbnb was in the Kiental, so we visited the Kien valley and then called it a (long) day.

Öschinensee: We left the Kiental and headed for the Öschinensee, where there were quite a lot of tourists after a while, so we left.

Wiler, Lauchernalp (canton Wallis): On a train we went through a very long tunnel (without ever getting out of the car). Wiler was at the base of the alp we were headed for, so we went for a walk through the village. It was a bit spooky because the neighboring village Blatten had just been buried under a glacier two weeks earlier - the whole village was gone - so the mood in Wiler seemed to be weighed down with sadness. We drove up the hotel on the alp, which Nathalie knew from a skiing vacation many winters earlier. At the hotel we were the only guests apart from one elderly gentleman. A young couple from Slovenia served us our food, they were the only personnel, living there with their cat.

Diemtigtal: On our way back to Muri for a coffee break we went through the Diemtigtal and drove by many other beautiful villages on a long round trip. Finally we headed for Basel-Land.

Basel-Landschaft: The next day we spent in Basel-Land, we visited the castle ruins in Läufelfingen (village where Nathalie lives), the hermitage in Arlesheim, the Goetheanum in Dornach and the view from Gempen. The following day we were in Luzern, we slept at Daria's home, but don't have any pictures of that. Michelle met up with a friend in the city before leaving for Berlin a day later.

On the last day, Nathalie was performing in Biberist, Bern, with her band. In the middle of the concert was a half hour pause, in which Na and Michelle headed for the station in Solothurn, where Michelle took a train to Berlin ...
